BCPO Warns Public Against Unauthorized Personal Wellness Services in the City

The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) urges the public not to avail of unauthorized freelancers offering personal services—such as nail cleaning, massage, henna tattooing, and fortune-telling—in parks and other public areas. Such unregulated services are often used to conceal criminal activities. The Police recently encountered incidents of theft where unsuspecting clients fall victim to this kind of modus operandi. In one case, a citizen was victimized during a massage session provided by an unauthorized masseuse at Magsaysay Avenue, Kagitingan, Baguio City. City Director, PCOL RUEL D TAGEL, reiterated the need for vigilance and community cooperation, stating: “Prevention is better than solving a crime”. That is why we must exert all efforts to prevent crimes—through precautionary measures, strict implementation of city ordinances, and continuous patrolling—to ensure safe parks and other public places throughout the city.”
